Day 7 was the final day on board our dream vacation, the floating resort that is the Disney Fantasy.
We docked in Castaway Cay early on. I had told Michael the night before that if he wanted to go out we would meet him a shore. So when I woke up he was already long gone. The rest of us got ready, snorkel gear and swimsuits, & headed for breakfast, then instead of returning to the room we headed straight out for the beach.
As we exited the ship we picked up towels, I stopped by the post office and posted off some post cards. (Apparently they never made it???)
Christopher had gone back to the room, he eventually joined up and we headed off to do some snorkeling. I do not have an underwater camera sorry so lots of today wasn’t caught on camera.
Kat and I snorkeled for ages, going right out to the rope cut off. We had purchased our own snorkel mask and mouth piece from Walgreens for like $12, which comparatively with the “excursion” price of $30+ was a great deal. There was not a surprising amount of fish, there were a few however and that was worth it. After an hour or so we headed back to shore to meet up with Chris and seek out some food.
Lunch was an on shore BBQ with chicken and burgers and hot dogs and what not. After refueling we headed to the adults only beach, were we ran into Michael and then spent the rest of the day floating around in bliss in the pure blue waters of Castaway cay.
Day 8 was debarkation day. Which went smoothly enough except for the fact that we lost Perry the Platypus. We loved our servers and our stateroom attendant so much that we tipped them extra and also wrote them x2 Great service cards each. Which we had given them at dinner the night before much to their surprise and happiness.
The lines through customs were crazy and I think people kept trying to sneak food off the ship, there was a fair pile of fruit at the desks when we passed through.
We caught a shuttle back to the Radisson to pick up Michael’s car and off we went home.
Once Michael had dropped Kat and I back at Vista Way, she went to sleep, I however was very productive, I headed to Walmart to pick up some food ( as I hadn’t worked I a week so no food and no pay check).
We both slept soundly though very happy to be home but not happy for our vacation to end.
